The Alentejo Region is worldwide recognised for its great wines. Take the time to visit local vineyards and taste the delicious beverage!
After a day of discoveries, hiking, canoeing, and wine degustation, what is better to relax while admiring a marvellous sky full of stars? Monsaraz received in 2012, the first "1st Starlight Destination Certification", award sponsored by UNESCO and the World Tourism Organisation.
Starlight destinations are places where the low level of light pollution allows visitors to enjoy a clear night sky, and (re)discovering the pleasure of stargazing, which is becoming harder in many European places, due to intensive light pollution.
