Starting with the charming city of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. We will visit the Palace of Pena, a magnificent example of the Portuguese Romantic architecture, considered as one of the "Seven Portugal Wonders", built in the 19th century.
Then we will explore the historic center, where you will have some free time to enjoy the beautiful medieval streets of the city, contemplate the natural landscapes of the mountain of Sintra, go shopping or taste the delicious local pastry: the famous pillows (travesseiros ) and cheesecake (queijadas). Afterwards we will visit the National Palace of Sintra, also called Royal Palace. This monumental building was used by the Portuguese royal family until 1910 and is still considered an example of organic architecture.
In the afternoon, we will go to one of the most emblematic places of Portugal: Cabo da Roca, the western point of the European continent (from October 31st to March 1st, this visit is replaced by Boca do Inferno). On the scenic route along the Atlantic coast, we will also have the opportunity to contemplate other points of interest such as Guincho Beach, a paradise for surfers and windsurfers, and the impressive Boca do Inferno. Our last stop will be by the Cascais Bay, former summer residence of the Portuguese royal family, renowned for the beauty of its beaches and lively nightlife.
