Azores Island: São Miguel Tour

In your arrival at Ponta Delgada airport, our driver will give you a warm welcome and will take you to your Hotel. Check-in and accommodation in São Miguel.

This guided tour will begin at 9 a.m. visiting a traditional ananas plantation. Then, across the west coast of the island, we will reach the lookout point of Pico de Carvão. The next stop will be at Lagon of Sete Cidades and then a lunch break, which will be in a regional restaurant. Towards the north coast, we will visit the historic center of Ribeira Grande and Caldeira Velha, a protected natural park. The last stop will be at Lagoa do Fogo. Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, we will begin our tour of Furnas Island. The first stop will be in the Caldeiras da Lagoa das Furnas, where the famous "Cozido" is, in fact, cooked only with water vapor. Then we will arrive in the town of Furnas, famous for geysers and mineral sources. For lunch we will try cozido in a typical restaurant.

Then we will know the Terra Park, famous for its biodiversity of the Azores and the world. At the end of the visit you will be invited to a bath in a hot water pool, rich in iron. But the tour continues, and the next stop will be at Europe's only tea plantation, so we can visit the factory and have a tasting. Finally, we will return to the hotel.

The day begins with a trip towards the North Coast making the first stop at Ribeira dos Caldeirões. Here you will be enchanted by a beautiful waterfall, with the traditional water mills and with the beautiful gardens. Passing through the picturesque Vila do Nordeste towards the beautiful, landscaped viewpoints of Ponta do Sossego and Ponta da Madrugada, located on the eastern tip of the island, we will see the famous lighthouse of Arnel. Heading towards Vila da Povoação where lunch will be served, passing through Faial da Terra.

In the afternoon, a visit to the historic center of Vila da Povoação as well as next to the fishing port where you can enjoy the tranquility of this place.

We'll begin this half-day tour with a cetacean observation trip. We will have the opportunity to meet and admire marine mammals in their natural habitat, such as whales and dolphins. Using the technique of strategically placed lookouts on the south coast of the island, our boats set off to meet these unique animals.
